Our annual State of the Sector survey for 2023 is now live. We would greatly appreciate your views on the key issues and opportunities facing the building and construction sector.
2023 is the year for action. New Zealand, alongside other countries, is facing a challenging year ahead. The economic consequences of Covid, among them inflation, and the monetary and fiscal responses to Covid’s aftermath, mean many New Zealanders are experiencing cost of living pressures. Government finances are also under strain. This creates a hugely challenging backdrop for the building sector.
Gaining a greater understanding of the issues from those on the ground is key to ensuring robust discussion and sustainable solutions.

The survey results will be launched at the Constructive Forum, held August 30-31 in Auckland. Constructive is an industry led effort to enhance collaboration, build resilience and ensure a vibrant and sustainable sector that delivers what New Zealand needs now, and for our future.
